Buy a bare dual-motor frame, bolt on a top you choose — butcher block, bamboo, a salvaged door, a laminate remnant — and you own a true electric sit-stand desk with memory presets for less than most finished desks. Assembly is an afternoon with a drill; the frame does the engineering. This is the version of DIY we recommend to almost everyone now.
